Chocolate and Beer: Two Fannish Favorites!

Let’s face it, science fiction fans love chocolate and beer. Boston is a great place for both.

Every Saturday afternoon from September to May, from noon to 3pm, you can indulge your sweet tooth at the Café Flueri’s “Chocolate Bar”. Voted "Best Indulgence" by Boston Magazine, the Chocolate Bar will delight fans with an all-you-can-eat buffet of light and dark chocolate mousses, cakes, tortes, eclairs, crepes, ice cream, cookies, pies and other delicacies. Cost: Adults $23, children 5 to 12 $12, children under 4 free. Reservation recommended.

Samuel Adams and Harpoon Breweries offer tours with samples of their beer. You must be 21 years old and have proper I.D. to sample the beer.

Samuel Adamas tours are held on Thursdays at 2pm, Fridays at 2pm and 5:30pm, and Saturdays at 12pm, 1pm, and 2pm. Suggested donation: $2.00. Entire proceeds to benefit local charities and Youth Enrichment Services.

The Harpoon Brewery store is open 11am to 6pm, Tuesday through Friday and 11am - 5pm on Saturday. Complimentary tastings take place on Tuesday through Saturday at 3pm. Tastings are offered on Friday and Saturday at 1pm and 3pm. No reservations are necessary. Families are welcome. Samples are only offered during tasting times.
