Re: film schedules
We're going to have three film/video rooms and
two anime rooms and we're going to have 35mm and 70mm film.
Our film and anime people are still obtaining permissions and fine-tuning their schedules. They don't want to disappoint people by announcing films we may not be able to get.
The schedule will be published in the pocket program, so we should have it in about two weeks.

When will the film schedule be released?

Can we have comfortable chairs or couches -- those plastic chairs or convention chairs are killers. Ever tried to lie down on a row of them because of back problems and watch lotr fotr spec edition in that position?
It would also be nice to have popcorn for sale if we can eat in the theatre - a real movie experience.
Also, you need to air out the place - or have a non-bathers not admitted policy.

Conman: I've passed your suggestions onto both our programming and our film people. Thanks for taking the time to make these suggestions.

For the past several years the worldcons have really spent little attention to the film room and providing a fun nostalgic atmosphere. Tis a shame. Chicago in 2000 was the last to actually have a nice homage of great fantasy and sci-fi of the past decades, and on a big screen. Since then The main showroom for movies has been dominated by the nominated films and little else but filler or anime with no visual appeal. . I would like to see exciting fun movies that are not on the big screen any more brought back to life in something other then the mass-retarded fuzzy t.v. screens the alternate film rooms have provided. Films like Star Wars(original trilogy ofcourse), Conan the Barbarian, Alien(s),Willow, Ladyhawke, Blade Runner, Sword and the Sorceror, Just Visiting, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Dark City, Heavy Metal, Lord of the Rings(animated), Farscape Episodes! etc etc do not belong on puny screens and would make excellent viewage to the masses if coordinated properly.... A good creature feature at midnight like American Werewolf in London or Nightbreed would be a nice touch as well.... and a nice classic like Dark Crystal or Labyrinth for the kiddies and manchilds(like myself). These are a few tidbits but anything that shows that you spent a bit of time into our shared viewing pleasure would be a nice change from cons near past and appreciated.... Be Well............
