Boston for Orlando in 2001

Welcome to the location poll for the Boston for Orlando in 2001 bid for the 59th World Science Fiction Convention.

On December 22, 1997 we sent a letter to the Supporters and of the Boston in 2001 bid. We also sent a FAQ sheet explaining the reasons for the move, the choices we need to make and hopefully answered a few of your questions. A special Boston area letter was included to our local supporters. We asked our Supporters to return a postcard to help us decide between our two possible choices of Orlando facilities.

On December 26, 1997 we posted a press release to various newsgroups, mailing lists, and science fiction newszines.

As of January 26, 1998, at the close of our survey,

366 Supporters prefer the Disney facilities.

155 Supporters prefer the MagiCon facilities.

On January 28, 1998, Boston for Orlando in 2001, after consulting with our presupporters and exploring all possible options, last night voted to select, as the site for our bid to host the 59^th World Science Fiction Convention, the Dolphin & the Swan, two hotels located on Disney World in Florida, USA.

Our updated FAQ has been prepared to answer questions specifically about the Dolphin & the Swan facilities.
