Restaurants in East Boston: Because of the general difficulty in getting to East Boston from other parts of the area and parking, the restaurants here are not all well-known although a number of them are in Zagat’s and Phantom Gourmet. In consequence, prices are lower than for comparable quality in Boston. However, we are in East Boston. All restaurants in this list are in East Boston; all telephones have an area code of 617.
· Most restaurants will take Visa/MC—however, American Express and Discovery may not be accepted at some. A few take cash only.
· Restaurant hours may vary from what’s printed; call ahead.
· Many restaurants will deliver to the hotel—some have a fee, a minimum order, and/or restricted times. A partial list is given in this guide. Call any restaurant for details of delivery.
· Driving is NOT recommended. East Boston is confusing with one-way streets and non-grid streets plus limited parking; it is a short cab ride. There are many good restaurants a short walk from a T-stop. These stops are shown in the list below. If there’s no stop listed, it may be a long walk and a taxi is recommended.
